As kits and plans for cedar-strip boat construction grow more accessible to aspiring boatbuilders, we have installed elaborate automated machinery in our Annapolis factory to produce first-rate bead-and-cove cedar strips at reasonable prices. Our strips are made to very tight tolerances, always of uniform thicknesses and with precisely cut beads and coves for smooth hulls. These are the same strips we use for our display boats. Boatbuilders assembling Guillemot kayaks from plans will use these strips. Not sure how many strips you'll need? CLC kayak designs like the Chesapeakes and Mill Creeks, with their cambered decks, are natural subjects for conversion. The formula is simple and the carpentry straightforward.
I have one of those Yakima cartop boxes. a car top box using the resin encased cedar strip method, like they use to build canoes and kayaks. Granted , a topper is a different animal from a roof mounted cargo box in that it. I know Thule made a carbon fiber roof box for a supercar but that is not typical plastic box, my preference would be cedar strip + fiberglass.
Get all the room you need inside your car by putting your bikes, cargo or kayak on your rooftop.
